Regatta Evaluation

It might be really difficult to decide what to wear when going for a dog walk at this time of year, don’t you think? Due to the extreme cold, you leave the house wearing multiple layers, but after only a few minutes of walking, you start to perspire profusely and scramble to take them off. And of course you need something waterproof in case it rains. In addition, consider what shoes you’re wearing because the ground is probably going to be muddy and slippery.

Nothing makes me and my dog Baxter, a one-year-old Cockapoo, happier than a muddy walk through the woods. I need to make sure we’re completely outfitted so that we can both continue to enjoy our long woods walks throughout the winter, and happily the kind folks at outdoor apparel manufacturer Regatta have come to our aid.

In order for you wonderful people to evaluate whether you too require these items in your life, I have put up a small review collection of the items I suggest for my ultimate winter dog walking kit list.

COMPATIBLE COATS You know how it’s kind of a thing to wear all matchy-matchy with your kids (at least while they’re still little enough to let you get away with it anyway)? Well, since mine obviously don’t think it’s cool, I figured I might as well do it to my pet instead. They do claim that dogs resemble their owners, though.

I’ve therefore chosen two navy blue jackets that resemble one another just enough to be cute, yet differ just enough to avoid seeming completely bonkers. Of course, all humor aside, our requirements differ greatly when it comes to the coat that best suits us. I’m all about the pockets and how water-resistant it is, whereas he’s got more of a can. I still act like a crazy mother while wearing this outfit.

Aside from any practical benefits, I adore this dog coat from Regatta because of how dapper the wearer appears in it. I really adore how the brown trim compliments his own furry trimmings. Extra small, small, medium, large, and extra large are the sizes available for the Odie dog coat. We chose medium, which was said to be suitable for Beagles, Cocker Spaniels, and Springer Spaniels, but it’s probably best to measure your dog to get an accurate fit.

Thermo-Guard insulation, polyester taffeta lining, suedette trim, and adjustable hook and loop straps for a secure fit. Additional features include a quilted water repellent finish. It is lightweight and unrestrictive, which let him to move around without it getting in the way. It is also not very warm because dogs already have their own furry coats, which is why I adore it. In a perfect world, I would have preferred it to have a hole for the lead to feed through so that it fits around his neck more tightly, but I understand that this may make it more difficult to put on.

This is ideal for a fast stroll around the block if it’s raining or a rural jog in the woods to keep your dog from getting drenched but also to provide them with a thin layer of extra warmth when the weather turns chilly.

Now let’s talk about a jacket for me. For me, the most important feature of a dog walking jacket is that it has roomy pockets for my phone, tissues, poo bags, and other supplies. Thirdly, I want it to be light enough to layer over thick jumpers while still being warm enough to block out the blustery winter winds. It must also have a hood and be waterproof. I don’t expect much in return.

Since it includes a foldaway hood, a durable water repellent finish, two deep pockets on the outside and a concealed secure pocket inside, and is both lightweight and breathable while also being fully lined, this waterproof jacket from Regatta has checked all of my boxes. I particularly appreciate that the cuffs and waist are adjustable, and that the back vents can be undone for simple mobility. Available in sizes 8 to 20, too. As someone with a small waist and large hips and thighs, being able to modify it to fit my body type and feel at ease moving around in it without tugging at it every five seconds is literally the stuff of dreams.

You must admit that we both look very good in our new jackets.

MARATHON SHOES A couple of weeks ago, I was out on a walk with a buddy when I occurred to peek down at what she was wearing on her feet. I did this because I was slipping and sliding in the mud in my boots while she appeared to be completely fine. She was wearing walking shoes, which were more like walking trainers than full-on walking boots but were still more stable and had more traction than a typical pair of trainers. Since I needed to purchase a pair, Regatta’s contact with me felt like a message from the living Gods.

An essential piece of equipment for walking dogs in the winter is a good pair of walking shoes. You’ll be wearing shoes every day, so comfort is essential. They also need to be grippy enough to survive even the most slippery muck. They need to be waterproof because there is nothing worse than having cold, wet feet. And I’m happy to inform that after testing this pair of Regatta walking shoes, they are unquestionably up to the task.

Women’s Samaris II Low Walking Shoes come in sizes 3 to 8 and come in the colorways seen in the images, Dark Cerise Ash, Moroccon Blue Black, Shoreline Blue Ash, Granite Red Sky, and Black Purple. Though it certainly helps if they are attractive, it really doesn’t matter how they seem; what matters is how comfortable and capable they are on the job. They actually feel like outside slippers, and I have to say that they have been the most comfortable things I have ever worn from the time I slid my feet into them. You know how your feet can feel sore after wearing a new pair of shoes, especially if you go on a long walk, and you might get a blister? On a one-hour walk on both a trail and a road, I tried these out for the first time, and nothing. Nothing hurt, including no blisters, aches, or pains. extremely impressed

To be fair, it’s clear why they’re so wonderful by looking at this entire collection.

Internal membrane bootee liner and waterproof, seam-sealed isotex footwear weaved high-performance nylon Endurance PU and mesh upper with additional room around the toes Water-resistant technology by Hydropel collar made of neoprene for additional comfort Neoprene collar with deep padding and mesh tongue Rubber toe and heel bumper with abrasion resistance Footbed with molded EVA comfort shank stabilization technology a new XLT sole unit that is self-cleaning and improves traction. I won’t even try to pretend that I understand even half of what was said above, but as they say, the evidence is in the pudding, and these have already saved my winter shoes.

Keeping the chills at bay I think this is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while. Although it may appear to be your typical neck warmer, snood, or buff, this item has an incredible 8 diverse uses! It functions as a neck warmer, scrunchie, headband, cap, wristband, legionnaires shade, face mask, and balaclava all in one, and I adore it for that.

Regatta Fleece Lined Stretch Multitube is the correct name for this item; multi refers to how many many ways it may be used, and tube refers to how the item is literally a tube of fabric. At the risk of sounding like an advertisement for Mandamp;S, this isn’t just any fabric tube; it’s a knitted stretch, fleece-lined, seam-free, lightweight, wind-resistant fabric tube. Oh, yep, these nasty boys are loaded!

I have two of these (one in black and one in purple) and wear them frequently while walking my dogs and when I run, primarily as a neck warmer. They have also been really helpful when I have forgotten a face mask and need to get my post-run coffee. Just pull it up over your nose, and you’re good to go.

WASHING UP! It’s all well and good to be ready for a dog walk, but what you really need to make sure of is that you’re ready for the clean up when you come home. You need this towel in your life if your dog is anything like mine (he like mud, water, bogs, and other nasty places).

It’s nice that the Regatta Dog Towel dries four times faster than a typical towel because right now it seems like I’m constantly tossing wet towels in the washer. Due to its light weight and small size, it may be neatly folded or rolled away for storage (I dont know if you can see in the photo below, but I keep the dog towels in baskets underneath the TV unit to ensure theyre within easy reach of the back door while also being hidden from view). The towel’s dimensions are 160 x 80 cm, making it larger than a bath towel and enabling me to wrap Baxter in it while also massaging his tummy and top. Because no one wants their home to smell like eau de damp dog, the fabric has also been treated with an anti-bacterial treatment to help keep it as clean and fresh as possible.

Regatta has already saved my floors and sofa from numerous messy paw situations, so for that reason alone, I am sincerely appreciative. This towel is also incredibly soft and quick to dry.

You now have the most of the equipment you and your dog will require to enjoy those winter dog walks. You may have noticed that I haven’t posted the prices, and the reason is simple: They frequently have sales going on (they currently have a wonderful one), therefore I wouldn’t want to offer you incorrect costs. However, I assure you that there are some incredible deals to be grabbed, so now is the perfect opportunity to head over to the Regatta website and take a look.
