Realize Your True Potential

It’s easier than you might believe to turn your dreams of how your life could be into reality. My own personal experience has shown me that this is accurate.

I had a string of life-altering experiences when I was a young adult. The first was the divorce of my parents. When my father abruptly passed away, I still hadn’t fully recovered from that blow, leaving me without direction. I wasted several thousand dollars of inheritance as I kept failing.

I was eventually able to rebuild my life and build MediCopy, a multimillion dollar, top-rated firm, from a medical records business I started with a single copy machine on my kitchen table. Let me reveal how I went from the lowest point in life to the highest level of accomplishment in both my personal and professional life.

It’s crucial to realize that every plan starts with the expressing of a notion. Your most cherished lifelong aspirations start to materialize after you take the time to pause, concentrate, and identify them. Actions naturally and miraculously develop when you pause to consider the direction you want your life to go in.

WITH A VISION BOARD, MANIFEST A vision board is a concrete, significant tool for focusing on the future you wish to accomplish. In fact, I’ve come to feel so strongly in the power of establishing a vision board to clarify goals and, in turn, find a path to achieving them, that I now encourage MediCopy’s 200 staff members to do the same each year. I even offer them compensated vacation time in return for this activity. Many people who were originally hesitant to participate soon realized the benefits of creating a vision board after seeing the fruitful outcomes that clarifying their goal produced.

I am aware that it can be challenging to persuade folks who have never imagined much to begin doing so. Some people are simply too focused on keeping up with their mortgages, student loans, and other bills to think beyond the current month, much less make preparations for the upcoming one. Your vision board can include little measures, like saving $10 a week or going for a quick walk every morning, if you’re not ready to create extravagant plans or see long-term goals. As you fulfill the goals you set for yourself, you’ll gradually feel more empowered.

Use a large poster board to list these nine elements to construct your own vision board:

1. EARLIEST REMINISCENCE OF A DREAM JOB What job did you once daydream about having? Did you ever consider pursuing a career as a musician, fashion designer, or veterinarian? Write, draw, or stick images of that career on the page. Do you still want to look into that line of work?

2. MOMENT WHEN YOU GOT COMPLIMENTS Did a teacher ever tell you that you were talented as a writer, artist, or mathematician? Did a relative or neighbor comment on your natural ability to lend a hand or work with your hands? Create a picture of that memorable moment for your vision board. Do you now have the chance to showcase your talent?

3. WHAT UNIQUE ABOUT YOU What sets you apart from the crowd? How do you communicate or hide that difference? On your vision board, describe how you honor that distinction or how you aspire to honor it.

4. KEY PRINCIPLE YOU LIVE BY What motto or aphorism best captures the fundamental principle that guides your moral conviction? Place the motto on your board by writing it or cutting it out.

5. YOUR DREAM HOUSEHOLD If you’re lucky, your ideal family is made up of your biological relatives. But for many people, our family is made up of people in whom we feel at ease and can confide. List the members of your inner circle who are closest to you.

6. YOUR OBJECTIVES Take the time to dream large about your objectives, both personal and professional, as thoughts have the power to manifest themselves. Selecting the pictures that best symbolize your goals and viewing them frequently on your board will help them materialize.

7. YOUR DIFFERENT TAKE ON SUCCESS Consider your professional standing and the sense of fulfillment you’ll have after achieving your goals. What benefits will success bring? Draw a picture of what success will look and feel like in your mind. What critical performance metrics will you use?

8. YOUR PRACTICES OF SELF-CARE What do you do to replenish your energy or feed your soul? Knowing that you need to take care of yourself in order to provide everything you have to your career and others will serve as a reminder to safeguard this crucial self-care practice.

9. YOUR CHART OF ACCOUNTABILITY By accepting responsibility for your actions, you can develop into your best self. Maintaining your responsibility to others encourages them to do the same for you. Make a list of the board members to whom you are responsible and the individuals you hold responsible for you.

Share your board with members in your inner circle when you’ve finished the nine components, possibly some of the individuals you listed in #5. Ideally, everyone has made their own vision board as well, so you can all talk about what you learnt from the process. In order to build a supportive team to assist you, you can also discuss how you plan to put your vision into action.

Making your vision board is a crucial step toward becoming who you were meant to be and achieving your unique definition of success. See for yourself how defining and visualizing your dreams can cause them to materialize in a seemingly magical way.
